This is another family dinner.. This time, my brother’s birthday!! We went to Ribs by Vintry. Although I pass by this shop quite a bit, I never did enter. So, this is my first time there. I kinda liked the ambience.. They even have a room specially for smokers, that is partitioned by a sliding door.. But it wouldn’t make any difference if the people in the room are not civilized enough to close the doors each time they go in or out.
I was looking at their menu and was very intrigued!! The names look really appetizing! Alright!! Let’s start.. For appetizers, we ordered Vintry House Salad, which is Romanian lettuce and salad. This was topped with white button mushrooms, black olives, cherry tomatoes and green olives. There was also something that looked like bacon, but I doubt it is.. XD Even though I’m not a salad person, it didn’t taste bad.. Very vegetable like!! @_@
The next appetizer was Smoked Salmon Carpaccio… The smoked salmon was served with capers, lemon juice, onion and olive oil. It was sliced thinly and the lemon juice would sink into the salmon. Perfect!!!
We also ordered a Wild Mushroom Soup. The soup was really thick and full of mushroom! It was served with a bun. Yummy!
Next up, are the main dishes!! I ordered the Deep-Fried Tom Yum Pork Ribs, which much to my disappointment, was kinda dry, tough and was just like ordinary fried ribs. It had very slight to no taste of tom yum!!! The side serving of potatoes and coleslaw was delicious though. But I will not want to have this again..
The Braised Pork Ribs, was the best dish for the day!! The ribs were seasoned so well that the taste was simply perfect!! It was braised in red wine herb sauce and served with potatoes and asparagus. DELICIOUS!!!!! *kiss fingers*
The next dish, BBQ Pork Ribs, was also delicious! The ribs were simply finger licking good! The BBQ ribs was served on top of mashed potatoes and coleslaw. The mashed potatoes was yummy-licious!!!
That’s enough of ribs… What else did we order? Pan Fried Seabass, was another good dish! A citrus butter chunk was placed on top of the seabass to allow it to melt by itself. Soft and flaky fish, served with fried cubed potatoes and coleslaw..
Lastly, we also ordered a pasta.. Tom Yum Spaghetti.. The spaghetti was cooked in tom yum base, together with pork ribs, sliced mushrooms and pork croutons. This actually tasted much better than the tom yum pork ribs!! & the taste of tom yum’s spiciness!!!
Alright! That’s all… I wouldn’t mind going back to Ribs.. But let’s just hope I’ll meet more considerate smokers.
