For my father’s birthday, I decided to treat him and my mom to somewhere nice. Since it’s been a long time since we last went to Wangsa Walk Mall, I decided that we could go try a nice spot over there. When we got there, we saw this place, Fullhouse Lifestyle Store & Cafe that was clearly hidden from the main shopping mall. It’s located right at the back of the mall, behind TGI Fridays. The place looked really cool, especially with extensive interior design. They place figurines around the cafe, and it looks really cute.
There is even a big bird cage thingy in the middle.
Right outside of the cafe, is their signature Mini Cooper car.
The outside decoration of the cafe looked like a sunny Sunday stroll at the park, with a small fountain in the middle. The floors are covered with green thin carpet, making it look like grass.
I’m not really a fish person, but I felt like eating fish on this particular day, so, I ordered a Seared Sea Bass. The pan seared sea bass was laid on a bed of spinach, topped with some tempura oyster mushroom and some creamy sauce. At the sides, it was garnished with some light green sauce. I have no clue as to what it was. The fish was flaky and fresh, yet, it had a fishy smell that made the dish less enjoyable. The dish was served with some mashed potato at the side. The mashed potato was smooth and had a slight sweet taste.
Mum ordered Al-Funghi Spaghetti that had a creamy butter base. The spaghetti was sautéed together with oyster mushroom. The slight spicy flavour (small chillies) went well with the spaghetti, and it tasted delicious. If you add a dash of crushed black pepper, it would taste even better.
Dad, on the other hand, ordered a Wok-Seared Chicken Chop. It was a grilled chicken thigh with black pepper sauce and raisins. The taste of the sauce was black-pepperish, yet, it has a sweet tinge. The dish was served with some vegetables and mashed potatoes. My dad didn’t enjoy his dish as much, due to the complex taste.
Mum and I didn’t want any cake, so, we just ordered a small piece, for formalities sake. We got him a small piece of Cappuccino Cake. I could smell the coffee aroma from the other side of the table. The cake was also soft and smooth. There were lots of other varieties there too.
As for the drinks, I ordered a glass of fresh watermelon juice with no sugar. Well, it was fresh!
Mum had Sea Coconut drink. It had quite a lot of sea coconut at the bottom.
In conclusion, this place is worth going, if you want to enjoy a good environment. Food wise, it’s on the average side, but I find that the portions are slightly small (especially the chops or fish).
